Español: Punta Arenas es una ciudad y un puerto del extremo sur de Chile, capital de la provincia de Magallanes y de la región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena. Fundada el 18 de diciembre de 1848, está localizada a 53°09′45″S 70°54′29″O, sobre la península de Brunswick, en la ribera continental del estrecho de Magallanes, y a pocos kilómetros del cabo Froward, el punto más austral de la masa continental de América. Según el exintendente de Magallanes, Claudio Radonich, Punta Arenas es la «Capital de la "Patagonia Austral"». |
