Summary
| Description | Brisbane Powerhouse, a world-class entertainment venue with cafes and restaurants, was once the New Farm Powerhouse, Brisbane’s first municipal power station which operated from 1928 to 1971. It was built by Brisbane City Council Tramways Department architect, Roy Rusden Ogg, and originally supplied electricity for the city’s tramway system. Some of the power station’s machinery has been retained, along with the graffiti on the walls from when the building lay derelict for many years. |
