There are future plannings for the Mayan train that will connect Valladolid, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Coba, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, etc. Hence, this train project isn’t culturally responsible and got denied by the Government of Mexico.


Hitchhiking

You can find a lift from the Mexican highway from many drivers passing by or you can find a bus on highway routes like Mexico 180 and Mexico 307. Most of the time it will not cost you anything but sometimes you will have to pay a bit amount for the ride. It’s easier to find a ride near a gas station or a speed bump.


Others

Ferry services are available from the port of Isla Mujeres to the port of Puerto Juarez in Cancun. There are passenger ships available that run from South America to the USA and back regularly. You can also reach there by road in your private car or a mini van. Major highways like Mexico 307 and Mexico 180 will lead you towards the city.
