Description
Português: Como Casa de Governo, começou a ser construído em meados do século XVIII quando foi criada a Capitania de Santa Catarina. O primeiro governador a habitá-lo foi o brigadeiro José da Silva Paes. Muitas ampliações e modificações foram feitas ao longo dos anos, porém a mais significativa e que perdura até os dias atuais foi no período de 1894 a 1898. Entre muitos detalhes, destaque para as dez estátuas externas feitas por Gabriel Silva, famoso escultor italiano. O Palácio Rosado (como é popularmente conhecido) foi construído em estilo eclético, pois mistura o barroco e o neoclássico. No interior, as escadarias em mármore Carrara e a marchetaria no assoalho dão o toque de luxo e altivez do local. No jardim está o Mausoléu que guarda os restos mortais Cruz e Sousa.
